Dr. Helen Olaoye is a staff psychiatrist at The Ottawa Hospital and the founder of Outpour Clinic, a consultation-based practice focused on women’s mental health, young adults, and culturally responsive care. She completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Ottawa and her medical training at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, with qualifications in Medicine, Surgery, and Obstetrics.

Dr. Olaoye’s clinical expertise includes mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions, reproductive and perinatal mental health, and emerging-adult psychiatry. Her practice integrates evidence-based psychotherapy approaches with a strong emphasis on collaborative care.

Her work is informed by her lived experience as a Black female physician and mother, and she remains committed to transcultural psychiatry and improving access to high-quality mental health care for the community. She has additional training in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) through ISEN and remains involved in teaching and mentorship through the University of Ottawa and national medical organizations.
