CAPP 1.0 Project
The CIHR-funded CAPP 1.0 project examined the challenges experienced by African, Caribbean and Black (ACB) communities and identified strategies to build capacity among healthcare providers to effectively address their COVID-19 related health outcomes. The study team conducted:
- Interviews with ACB people, healthcare providers and policymakers
- A survey of healthcare providers on COVID-19 knowledge and practices, providers’ preparedness, critical cultural competence, discrimination and ACB people’s access to COVID-19 related services
- A World Café event to review research findings and identify priority areas with key stakeholders.

In 2022, the research team launched a follow-up project—CAPP 2.0, which includes an eLearning course made up of five interactive learning modules.
